This 1996 Mercedes-Benz G320 is the genuine article. Finished in Agave Green with its beautiful period-correct cloth interior, it has the proportions, details, materials, and character that modern backdated builds are working so hard to recreate. Nothing here needs to pretend to be vintage. It is.
And unlike an untouched collector piece that has spent decades slowly deteriorating, this one has been thoroughly gone through and is ready to use.
Power comes from Mercedes-Benz's 3.2-liter inline-six, and the odometer shows approximately 153,000 kilometers, or just over 95,000 miles. It has been exceptionally well preserved and thoughtfully upgraded, including Koni RAID shocks and BFGoodrich KO2 all-terrain tires.
A full-length roof rack and rear ladder give it additional utility while looking completely at home on the classic G. The accessories pictured on the rack are not included with the sale, which leaves plenty of room to outfit it however you choose.
Inside is arguably one of the best parts of the truck. The period-correct cloth upholstery has the unmistakable look and feel of a '90s G Wagon, surrounded by analog gauges, classic switchgear, wood trim, and the wonderfully straightforward interior that disappeared as the G became increasingly luxurious. A Blaupunkt head unit adds modern functionality without looking out of place.
As it sits, this G320 needs nothing. Drive it exactly as it is and you have an authentic, increasingly collectible example of the era everyone is currently trying to recreate.
