This 1999 Mercedes-Benz G500 Short Wheel Base is one of approximately 10 V8 SWB examples imported to North America.

Finished in Black Opal Metallic over black leather, this example has 151,000 miles and is powered by the legendary 5.0-liter M113 V8, paired with a five-speed automatic transmission, dual-range transfer case, and three locking differentials. It's everything that made the late W463 such an incredible platform. It's simple, durable, and equally at home on the highway or the trail.

Since its previous ownership, the truck has received several tasteful updates, including Brabus wheels, a G63 front bumper, projector LED headlights, an upgraded head unit, and completely refreshed perforated leather front seats and matching door cards. The result is a truck that feels modern where it should, while still preserving the character that makes these early Europa imports so desirable.

Just as importantly, it hasn't been overbuilt.

Rather than someone else's fully realized project, this SWB remains an excellent foundation for the next owner. Whether your plans include suspension improvements, steering stabilization, or simply preserving one of the rarest factory G Wagons ever sold in North America, this truck is an outstanding starting point.

As always, we'd rather over-disclose than under-disclose. The paint does have areas that deserve attention. They aren't noticeable in the first several photos we've shared, but we have a detailed walkaround video coming soon that highlights everything honestly and transparently. We never believe in hiding imperfections, especially on collector vehicles. Fortunately, the cosmetic work needed is straightforward, and in our opinion, it's a relatively small consideration when the alternative is waiting years for another factory SWB to come to market.

If you've been looking for one of these, you already know there isn't another page of listings waiting behind this one. These trucks rarely become available, and when they do, they tend to find their next caretaker quickly.

If you have any questions, we'd be happy to talk through the truck in detail. Keep an eye out for additional photos, along with our complete walkaround and driving video, coming soon.
