2011 Mercedes-Benz G55 AMG — 41,108 Miles
There are clean G55s, and then there’s this.
This 2011 G55 AMG is black on black, has just 41,108 miles, and it looks closer to a museum piece than a daily driver. The paint is essentially perfect. No scratches. No dents. The interior is exceptional. We genuinely can't tell whether anyone has ever sat in the back seat.
Under the hood is one of the engines that makes this generation so special: AMG’s hand-built 5.4-liter supercharged and intercooled M113K V8, producing 500 horsepower at 6,100 rpm and 516 lb-ft of torque, paired with a five-speed automatic transmission. The 2011 model also marked the final year of the G55 AMG and the end of the supercharged V8 era for the G-Class.
We’re big on full disclosure, so here’s the bad news: It needs tires. That’s about all we’ve got.
Mechanically, it’s totally sound. It drives the way you’d expect an exceptionally preserved, low-mileage G55 to drive. We’ve gone looking for rust in the places where these trucks like to hide it: the door seals, windshield surround, rear-door seals, and the usual trouble spots, and found nothing.
Then there’s the question of how you might choose to modify it. You could do absolutely nothing. In this condition, that argument is pretty compelling, but it’s also a blank canvas for someone who wants to build the G55 they’ve always wanted without first undoing someone else’s modifications. A GOAT Mod, running boards, blacked-out details, an updated head unit, or a more comprehensive build could all make sense here.
As far as rarity - we’re not going to write paragraphs telling you that clean, low-mileage G55s have become desirable and impossible to find. You have Google. What we will say is that finding another 2011 with 41k miles in this condition is not something we’d count on.
Could another one show up here tomorrow? Sure. Anything can happen, but we doubt it.
If you’ve been waiting for the right G55, we've got it.
